Auditor: 119 Sex Offender Addresses Match Child Care Providers

On March 27th, 2013, my office released an audit finding that the addresses of 119 sex offenders matched the address listed by a Child Care Provider.  While the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) has the best intention to fulfill its mission, this audit shows that more can be done to protect young children.

Bump releases report on Bureau of Special Investigations cases

Boston, MA - In a quarterly progress report issued today, State Auditor Suzanne M. Bump said examiners with the office’s Bureau of Special Investigations (BSI) found evidence of $506,721 in fraudulently obtained public assistance benefits and services.
